Job summary

NHS Borders invites applications for a Band 5 Staff Nurse in the Intensive Therapy Unit at Borders General Hospital. The post is a permanent role working 28.75 hours in a busy 9-bed combined ICU/HDU that cares for level 1–3 patients.

You will be supported to develop skills in Critical Care, with access to the National Critical Care step competency programme and opportunities to undertake related courses during your development within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Band 5 Staff Nurse in Critical Care setting.
• Opportunity to develop skills in Critical Care and complete the National Critical Care step competency programme.
• Support to undertake a critical care course alongside this.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of care to patients within a challenging, yet supportive Acute Hospital setting.
• Participate in learning opportunities to develop clinical and educational competencies in Critical Care.
