Job summary

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mortuary Assistant to help provide an efficient mortuary service and maintain high standards of care for deceased patients, in line with HTA compliance.

Under limited supervision you will perform routine tasks, support senior colleagues, and offer compassionate guidance to clinicians, bereaved relatives and visitors, contributing to a respectful, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain high standards of care for the deceased.
• Excellent communication and compassionate manner with colleagues, patients' families and visitors.

Job description

To assist providing an efficient mortuary service and ensure the department maintains a high standard of care for deceased patients, as well as maintain compliance with the Human Tissue Authority (HTA).

To perform under limited supervision routine activities within the department and assist senior team members.

To provide appropriate advice to clinicians, other visitors to the mortuary and bereaved relatives and friends in respect of care after death., The postholder will be expected to consistently demonstrate behaviours aligned to the Trust's shared commitments, embedding compassion, inclusion, integrity and excellence in their day-to-day practice.
