Job description

To provide a professional secretarial service to the Consultant Psychiatrist and members of the Steps to Recovery wards, assisting them in achieving their objectives, organising their workload, and liaising with all relevant and appropriate services. Reliable data entry into the Rio computer system will be required to ensure a full and effective clinic system is in operation, including receiving all visitors, staff, patients, and GPs' telephone calls in a polite, friendly, and courteous manner.

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties, including:

  1. Receiving all correspondence
  2. Booking new patient appointments
  3. Attending MDT weekly meetings
  4. Audio transcription and text processing of clinical letters, reports, and other correspondence as required by the medical team

To act as a focal point of contact and be responsible for disseminating information, messages, and inquiries for the medical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members, other health professionals, staff within the Trust, GPs, social workers, service users, carers, and other external agencies.
