Coventry

  • Role: Locum Pharmacy Technician
  • Banding: Band 4/5/6
  • Location: Coventry
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Minimum of 3 months, with potential extension to 6-12 months depending on individual performance and workload requirements.
  • Rate: £15 - £29 per hour
  • Working hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday, 08:00AM or 08:30AM to 17:00 PM)

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacy Technician with experience in aseptic and the ability to dispense injectable chemotherapy. The ideal candidate will be GPhC registered and have prior NHS experience, although this is desirable rather than essential.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense injectable chemotherapy.
  • Ensure aseptic techniques are followed to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely medication delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience / Knowledge
    • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification.
    • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
    • Experience in aseptic and dispensing injectable chemotherapy.
    • Prior NHS experience is desirable.
  • Skills / Abilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Good organisational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
