Job description

We are seeking a Scheduling Officer to support the London Breast Screening Programme Administration Hub. The Hub provides centralized administrative support for six breast screening services across London.

The role involves supporting the screening office team by executing essential operational activities efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities include inviting women for breast screening, scheduling clinics and appointments, and liaising with other administration/data officers to ensure integrated functions and cover during short-term absences.

All officers are expected to develop knowledge to provide cover for each other's work, with specific tasks assigned by the Lead batching officer, who will also arrange training.

The role requires delivering support services aligned with the Trust and NHS Breast Screening Programme guidelines and targets. You will use experience and judgment to provide advice and guidance within your area of responsibility, referring to the Deputy Service Manager as needed.

You will contribute to the Breast Screening Service team through innovation and lead investigations into operational processes within the Breast Screening Unit, as directed by the Lead Scheduling Officer. Additionally, you will act as a senior staff member in work-based audits and process reviews, providing operational support to the Lead Scheduling Officer and Deputy Service Manager.

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s largest and most innovative trusts, caring for over 1.6 million patients across three hospitals, with extensive services including A&E, maternity, and diagnostics. We offer flexible working hours, benefits, and training to support your career growth.
