Job Summary

Birch Avenue Nursing Home provides 40 beds for people with complex dementia. The home is run by South Yorkshire Housing Association in partnership with Sheffield Health Partnership University. We seek caring, motivated Healthcare Support Workers to support residents with dementia in a multi‑disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and review individual care plans under the Nurse in Charge.
  • Deliver personal care, mobility support and daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity.
  • Observe and record physical and emotional changes, escalating concerns as required.
  • Maintain accurate shift records in line with Trust policy.
  • Work flexible 24‑hour shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Care Certificate (essential).
  • Experience working with dementia care (essential).
  • NVQ in Health and Social Care (desirable).
Skills
  • Personable, approachable and compassionate.
  • Strong communication and team working skills.
  • Initiative and independence.
