Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Supply Chain Distribution Officer in Stevenage. You will be responsible for delivering goods to wards and departments, ensuring proper handling and security of items. The role requires effective communication with staff and adherence to Trust policies. Full training will be provided, with core hours of 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Marshal goods into the goods receiving area and safely unload pallets.
  • Obtain recipient signature upon delivery of non-stock items.
  • Respond to enquiries efficiently acting as a liaison between departments.
  • Maintain high service levels for receipt and distribution of goods.
  • Collect and return empty roll cages/tote boxes from wards.
  • Assist materials management team with ward replenishment as needed.
  • Ensure maximum security of goods and the receiving store.
Job description
Role Overview

Band 2 – Supply Chain Distribution Officer. Deliver goods to wards and departments on day of receipt, safely unpack trolleys and pallets in an appropriate location. Adhere to safe manual handling procedures and Trust moving and handling policies. Occasionally travel to other Trust sites to provide coverage.

Responsibilities
  • Marshal goods into the goods receiving area, safely unloading pallets/roll cages/tote boxes from vehicles, checking and signing driver’s documentation when required.
  • Obtain recipient signature upon delivery of non-stock items, or as required by the Goods Receiving Officer.
  • Respond to enquiries efficiently, acting as a liaison between ward/department and other staff in the Supply Chain function.
  • Maintain high service levels to all customers for the receipt and distribution of goods at all times.
  • Collect and return empty roll cages/tote boxes from wards/departments to the NHS Supply Chain Distribution Centre.
  • Assist materials management team with ward replenishment when required.
  • Ensure the maximum security of goods, the receiving store and all goods within responsibility at all times.
Training & Working Hours

Full training will be offered to the successful candidate. Core hours 7.5 hours per day Mon‑Fri.
