Job summary

Enva is seeking a Baler Operative at our Colwick site to safely operate baling equipment, process recyclable materials, and support production targets. You will monitor performance, maintain records, and ensure quality and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

The role requires handling varying workloads in a busy recycling facility, with the ability to work day, night, and weekend shifts as needed. Previous baling or recycling experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate baling machinery safely and efficiently to process recyclable materials.
• Monitor baler performance and report any faults, damage, or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure all bales are produced to required specifications, including weight, density, and quality standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic housekeeping around the baling area.
• Remove contamination from materials where required to maintain product quality.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete operational paperwork as required.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of materials using authorised equipment.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
• Follow all site procedures, safe systems of work, and environmental regulations.
• Support other operational activities across the site as directed by management.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets and site objectives.
• Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and environmental incidents immediately.
