Job summary

Geary’s Bakeries is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join our 24/7 bread production operation. You will report to the Engineering Shift Manager and ensure plant and services run safely, effectively and efficiently to support manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Based at our Leicestershire sites, the role covers electrical and mechanical maintenance across all assets, with a focus on reducing downtime, implementing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with PTW, SOP,

Qualifications

• Experience of multi-skilled engineering in food manufacturing.
• Pro-active, assertive with a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and building systems.
• Night shift engineering background.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance of all assets at both sites.
• Ensure machinery is maintained for safe use and target performance.
• Minimise downtime with preventative maintenance.
• Investigate breakdowns and establish causes.
• Record repairs to identify recurrent faults.
• Manage materials, consumables, lubricants and chemicals safely.
• Follow PTW, SOP, H&S and GMP standards.
• Maintain engineering systems (KPI, CMMS, PMs, handovers, audits).
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of all site personnel.
• Coordinate third-party engineering activity.
