Job summary

James Grace Associates Ltd is seeking an experienced Bakery Supervisor in the United Kingdom to join our team in East Langton. This hands-on supervisory role works alongside the Bakery Manager to ensure smooth packing and dispatch operations, with 28 hours per week and shifts from Sunday to Thursday.

You will lead an established team, organise workloads, improve processes and maintain high standards, while ensuring orders are picked, packed and loaded accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff and managing a team.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Excellent English communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and organise the packing and dispatch team to ensure shifts run efficiently.
• Work closely with the Bakery Manager to plan workloads and meet daily deadlines.
• Organise the picking and packing of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Oversee the loading of delivery vans, ensuring all orders are correct and ready for dispatch on time.
• Monitor staff performance, ensuring everyone is productive and contributing fairly to the workload.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce wasted time and operate the packing department more efficiently.
• Review staffing levels and working methods to reduce unnecessary hours in the packing department without compromising quality or service.
• Motivate, support and lead an established team, encouraging staff to embrace improvements and maintain high standards.
• Resolve day-to-day operational issues calmly and confidently.
• Maintain excellent organisation, communication and standards throughout the shift.
