Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Redruth is seeking a Slicing Operative to join our Slicing Department and help us deliver top-quality bacon products to our customers.

You will visually examine and pack bacon, operate machinery safely, plan activities to hit targets, monitor quality, record production data, and keep work areas clean and compliant with health and safety standards. This is a full-time permanent role with a competitive hourly rate and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Able to work independently and solve problems.
• Practical/manual handling skills.
• Awareness of Health & Safety and Food Safety.
• Willingness to be trained and learn new skills.
• High attention to detail and quality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Visually examine and pack bacon products to meet customer and company standards.
• Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Plan work activities and meet production targets related to cost, productivity, waste, quality and safety.
• Monitor and control quality by checking weights, visual standards and specifications.
• Record production data and communicate findings clearly.
• Maintain high hygiene and safety standards in work areas.
• Communicate improvement opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Carry out cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas as needed.
