At Loci, we’re creating foundational AI models for 3D understanding. We use computer vision, machine learning, graphics, and language modelling to make working with vast catalogs of 3D content effortless for teams around the world.

Our AI is delivered as a modular API that integrates in minutes, allowing enterprise clients to find work instantly, never design the same thing twice, and launch sooner, for less. 3D understanding is one of AI’s last, hardest frontiers. At Loci, our end goal is to build the first 3D-LLM—capable of processing and understanding text, images, and 3D content as input.

We are a team of machine learning scientists and Emmy-winning creatives who believe in solving this specific problem exceptionally well.

We come from deep research backgrounds at MIT, Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Imperial, Meta, and Twitter, and spend our days turning state-of-the-art research into practical tools.

Role Summary

We are seeking a talented ML Ops Engineer to join our venture-backed startup. If the idea of building something beautiful from the ground up with a lean, deliberately paced team excites you, this could be a dream opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Develop a cloud-agnostic deployment of our infrastructure. Currently, we use many AWS services for our SaaS API (AWS ECS, Sagemaker, Lambdas). However, many of our customers require on-prem deployments. Thus, we need to develop tools that make a seamless deployment experience of our services (e.g., API, multiple ML models, Front-end) for these enterprise customers (e.g., Helm chart/Kubernetes).
• Deploy and efficiently package our 3D-based large language models (LLMs) (e.g., see Llama.cpp, VLLM, TensorRT-LLM libraries).
• Harness emerging serverless GPU inference tools for cost-efficient inference of our LLMs.
• Collaborate with our ML team to manage our ML Model Registry and model versioning.
• Expand our public API (FastAPI) to expose new functions and models for understanding 3D content (e.g., adding support for modern 3D file formats such as .splat).
• Expand our private API (FastAPI) for on-prem deployments which is used to invoke our various ML models.

Qualifications

• Expertise with Kubernetes
• Expertise with Docker
• Excellent practical software engineering ability, with fluency in Python and at least one API library (preferably FastAPI)
• Experience in automation, CI/CD, DevOps, MLOps, monitoring, and cloud computing tooling (AWS)
• Excellent communication skills. This role may involve working directly with client dev ops teams on integration.
• (Bonus): You have a high-level understanding of computer vision systems and/or language models.
• (Bonus): You have experience with SQL.
• (Bonus): You have experience scripting in Blender (Python).
