Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Software Engineer III in Christchurch, UK to join an agile team that designs, develops, and troubleshoots secure, scalable software components for state-of-the-art technology products.

You will contribute to the full SDLC, work with Python/Java/Django and SQL, and apply AI-assisted tools to improve code quality and speed, while upholding security standards and collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with Python, Java, Django, and SQL.
• Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle; familiarity with agile methodologies (CI/CD, resiliency, security).
• Proficiency in using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs for correctness and security.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Writes secure, high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools to improve automation value.
• Performs technical troubleshooting to resolve basic to moderate complexity issues.
• Analyses large data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
• Learns and applies system processes and skills for secure, stable code and systems.
• Contributes to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• Uses enterprise AI-assisted tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and testing validation.
• Understands responsible AI usage in engineering workflows and guides peers on safe usage.
