Job summary

Freetrade is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the Backend Engineering squad in a hybrid setup with offices in central London and Budapest. You will help build a scalable platform used by thousands daily, focusing on reliable services and robust design in a fast-growing fintech environment.

You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams, own technical decisions, and contribute to on-call incidents while delivering high-quality code and solving complex problems.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong collaboration and ownership mindset.
• Attention to code quality and openness to feedback.
• Ability to solve complex problems and navigate unfamiliar territory.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software within agreed timelines, addressing complex problems and evaluating trade-offs.
• Deliver scalable, maintainable backend solutions and balance trade-offs.
• Understand product KPIs and work with Product Manager to drive development.
• Contribute to on-call incident response and escalation when needed.
