Job summary

Dex is partnering with a trusted team building AI software that turns sensor data into real-time defence intelligence. The role focuses on building foundational infrastructure for systems under extreme constraints: intermittent connectivity, embedded compute, low-bandwidth radios, and untrusted networks.

You will drive robustness through testing, RFCs, and deep failure analysis while contributing to an engineering culture of shared ownership and high impact.

Qualifications

• Backend development in a systems language (Rust, Java, Go, or C++).
• Expertise in edge computing, latency, or platform engineering.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems with partial degradation.
• Familiarity with REST, GraphQL, gRPC/Protobuf, and Arrow.

Responsibilities

• Propose and build features and infrastructure for real-time defence intelligence systems.
• Engineer for extreme environments with intermittent connectivity and resource constraints.
• Drive robustness through rigorous testing and failure-mode analysis.
• Participate in RFCs, code reviews, and shared ownership culture.
