Job summary

OrganOx is seeking a Backend Developer to join the Digital team in Oxford. You will design, develop and maintain secure cloud-based services, APIs, and databases supporting OrganOx digital products with direct impact on clinical outcomes.

This on-site role, with flexibility, emphasizes regulated medical device software lifecycle, quality controls, and collaboration with internal and external teams. Strong C#, .NET, Azure experience and a passion for reliable systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as software engineer in a commercial delivery team.
• Proficient with Microsoft technologies: C#, .NET, SQL Server, Azure.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems.
• Knowledge of database design, performance tuning, data modelling.
• Familiar with DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes desirable.
• Experience in regulated medical device or healthcare environments desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, databases, and Azure cloud-native solutions.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases to support requirements.
• Develop automation, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and DevOps workflows.
• Create unit and integration tests and contribute to quality reviews.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Analysts to refine requirements and technical specs.
• Ensure timely delivery per quality, regulatory, cybersecurity, and data protection standards.
• Document architecture, traceability, risk controls, and quality records.
• Support monitoring, troubleshooting, and controlled releases.
• Develop understanding of OrganOx products and impact on patients’ lives.
• Adhere to OrganOx Code of Conduct and company policies.
