Job summary

LA International is actively seeking a Platform/Backend Engineer for a 12-month, inside IR35 contract in Central London. This is a full-time, on-site role with collaboration across platform squads.

Apply strong Java 11+ and Spring to build REST microservices, manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS (Lambda, ECS, EKS) using Terraform, and ensure robust observability. Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and NoSQL databases is essential to support enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building backend systems in Java 11+ and Spring.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, EKS) and Terraform.
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge including deployments, services, ingress, config maps and secrets.

Platform/Backend Engineer

We're looking for a Platform Engineer / Backend Engineer with strong Java, AWS and Kubernetes skills.

Skills required:

• Extensive experience in Java 11 and above, Spring Framework, MVC, JDBC, Hibernate, REST microservices/APIs, cloud APIs and AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EKS and Terraform
• Strong Kubernetes experience, including cluster concepts, deployments, services, ingress, config maps, secrets, autoscaling, monitoring/observability and troubleshooting containerized workloads.
• Extensive experience in backend development using Oracle PL/SQL and NoSQL databases

The contract is for 12 months, inside IR35 and is full time on site in Central London.
