Job summary

Slim Chickens East Midlands Shopping Centre in the UK is hiring a Back of House Supervisor to lead the kitchen team and ensure consistent food preparation.

You will oversee back-of-house operations, maintain food safety standards, manage stock, and collaborate with Front of House to deliver smooth service, with a focus on developing a positive, productive kitchen environment. Weekend, late-night and bank holiday availability is required as we keep the brand busy.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising kitchen or fast-paced environments.
• Strong leadership and team mentoring skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all back-of-house operations to ensure efficient and consistent food preparation.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory, monitor stock, and arrange timely orders.
• Collaborate with Front of House to ensure seamless service.
• Address kitchen issues promptly to maintain smooth operations.
• Support staff training and development to uphold brand standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Overseeing all back-of-house operations to ensure efficient and consistent food preparation
• Leading, mentoring, and motivating the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
• Managing inventory, monitoring food stock, and ensuring timely ordering of supplies
• Collaborating with the Front of House Supervisor to ensure seamless service
• Handling kitchen-related issues and resolving them promptly to maintain smooth operations
• Supporting staff training and development to uphold our brand’s high standards
• Creating a positive, productive work environment where the kitchen team can thrive

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen or similar fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a kitchen team
• A passion for delivering consistent, high-quality food
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
• A deep understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure
• Flexible, availability that includes weekends, late nights and bank holidays – we’re always on the go!
