Job summary

Partner Company, in collaboration with Jobgether, seeks a Back-End Engineer (Python) in the United Kingdom to build secure APIs and integrations for a global SaaS platform. You will own API design, microservice development, and collaboration across product, design, front-end, and QA in a remote-first, asynchronous environment.

Key requirements include 3+ years of Python experience, FastAPI proficiency, REST/gRPC/GraphQL API design, and strong SQL skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Python skills with a web framework (preferably FastAPI).
• Experience designing and implementing microservices.
• API design experience (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Strong SQL skills and handling of database/storage technologies.
• Ability to design, communicate, and document technical solutions before implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication in distributed, remote environments.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants and disciplined AI-assisted workflows.
• Understanding of Test-Driven Development and automated tests, especially for AI-generated code.
• Experience with SaaS platforms or custom-built software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain fast, secure, reliable APIs consumed by front-end and back-end applications.
• Design and implement integrations with third‑party applications and external systems.
• Participate in full software delivery lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Leverage AI-powered coding tools as part of development workflow.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to plan and implement new features.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and solution design within the engineering org.
• Share knowledge and best practices within the Back-End chapter.
• Document technical solutions before implementation for maintainability.
• Contribute to a culture focused on quality, security, and performance.
• Take increasing ownership of technical work to deliver squad objectives.
