A leading HealthTech company in the UK is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build production-grade backend systems using Python and FastAPI. This role offers fully remote working with optional office space in Holborn. You'll contribute to high-impact projects in AI-driven healthcare, work alongside engineering experts, and have the chance to shape core architecture. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of backend development experience and a passion for AI systems and real-world impact.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer building modern backend systems.
• Strong Python skills (FastAPI preferred; Flask or Django also considered).
• Knowledge of system design, data modelling, and distributed architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices – testing, CI/CD, clean code.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade backend systems using Python and FastAPI.
• Develop distributed, high-performance services and APIs for AI-driven platforms.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, scalability planning, and system optimization.
• Implement best practices in testing, CI/CD, and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with product, AI, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across the engineering organization.
