A leading mental health service provider is seeking Clinical or Counselling Psychologists. You will work within the Community Mental Health Recovery Service, providing assessments and therapies to adults facing severe mental health challenges. The role includes collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored care plans, ensuring high standards of clinical practice. We welcome Clinical or Counselling Psychologists to apply for this post. We offer regular supervision, CPD events, and training. You will have opportunities to connect with psychologists working in this locality of our Trust.
It is desirable to have experience working in a community mental health team or secondary care services. Access to a car is important as this is a community-based role.
In our Community Mental Health Recovery Service (CMHRS), we see adults with complex, severe, and enduring mental health problems. The principles and philosophy of care are based on the recovery model. We offer NICE evidence-based interventions. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychology services, including assessment and delivery of group or individual psychological therapies. They will work closely with other psychologists and multidisciplinary team members such as Mental Health Practitioners, Community Psychiatric Nurses, and Psychiatrists. They will also interface with teams like Home Treatment Teams and Inpatient services, actively involved in assessment and evidence-based psychological interventions.
Applicants must be registered with HCPC or be eligible for registration soon.
The role involves being professionally and legally responsible for all clinical work and care, maintaining high standards in accordance with HCPC guidelines, professional standards, and Trust policies. The candidate must act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005), and be aware of safeguarding policies and legislation.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments, formulating and evaluating interventions, involving clients in developing their care plans, advocating for their dignity and preferences, and adapting communication to meet individual needs. The role also involves undertaking risk assessments and developing risk management plans.
