Job summary

AirTanker is seeking a skilled B2 Engineer for Base Maintenance in the UK. You will certify maintenance tasks within your authorisation, supervise technicians, and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.

You will work closely with Technical Services, Planning and external partners to meet schedules, while maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance. This role features a shift allowance and benefits under AirTanker’s package.

Qualifications

• Hold a CAA B2 licence with A330 Type Rating.
• Experience certifying maintenance in Base Maintenance.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop others.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in industry data systems and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Certify aircraft servicing and maintenance tasks within your scope of authorisation.
• Supervise and support technical staff, ensuring work is safe and compliant.
• Take ownership of aircraft documentation and certification entries.
• Control materials, tooling and equipment and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Encourage open reporting and a just culture.
• Liaise with Technical Services, Planning and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Promote and monitor Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Escalate safety or disciplinary matters to the Line Manager.
• Deputise for Senior Engineers when needed.

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated B2 Engineer to join our Base Maintenance team. Working alongside the Shift Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, compliant and high‑quality aircraft maintenance, ensuring all operational and contractual requirements are met.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, supporting others, and operating in a fast‑paced maintenance environment while upholding the highest safety and airworthiness standards.

What you'll be doing

• Certify aircraft servicing and maintenance tasks within your scope of authorisation and in line with Quality and regulatory requirements
• Supervise and support technical staff, ensuring work is carried out safely and in accordance with approved documentation
• Take ownership of aircraft documentation, ensuring accurate and timely certification entries
• Control materials, tooling and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Encourage open reporting and positive behaviours in line with a just culture
• Liaise with Technical Services, Planning and other internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and meet schedules
• Promote and monitor Health, Safety and Environmental standards
• Escalate safety or disciplinary matters to the Line Manager as required
• Deputise for Senior Engineers when needed

What you'll bring

• Hold a CAA B2 licence with A330 Type Rating and relevant Company Authorisation
• Proven experience certifying maintenance within a Base Maintenance environment
• Strong understanding of team working within a zonal structure
• Confident using industry‑standard technical data systems and man‑hour recording tools
• Ability to take ownership and deliver objectives within agreed timescales
• Demonstrated experience in wiring repair and modification
• Strong communication skills with experience liaising with internal and external agencies
• Experience in mentoring, supporting and developing others
• Experience supporting short‑notice AOG recoveries from deployed locations
