As a B1 Licensed Engineer at London Luton Airport, you’ll complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, rectify defects and certify work in line with approved documentation, company procedures and legislation.
Working closely with the Duty Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll help protect the operating programme by prioritising work and resources, escalating risks early and supporting safe, on-time departures. You may also supervise small teams when the operation requires it.
“This role is for an engineer who takes real pride in getting the detail right. We’re looking for someone who can make confident technical decisions, support the people around them and keep safety at the centre of every job, even when the operation is moving quickly.”
Hiring Manager, Engineering & Maintenance
You’ll join easyJet’s Engineering and Maintenance team, working in a fast-paced operational environment where technical knowledge, teamwork and reliable handovers make a direct difference. The team values ownership, practical improvement and positive working relationships across every shift.
You’ll use your licence and company approvals to complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, rectify defects and issue certificates of release to service to the required standards.
You’ll assess the work and resources needed, set priorities for allocated colleagues and keep the Duty Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor informed about progress, concerns and anything that could affect the flying programme.
You’ll check that parts and components are approved, certified and correctly handled, while making sure maintenance records, technical delay reports, deferred defects and handovers are accurate and completed on time.
When supervising others, you’ll maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and tool use. You’ll also help keep equipment, facilities, vehicles and premises safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
You’ll hold a UK Part 66 B1 licence and authorisation, or an equivalent approval on company aircraft, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant airworthiness legislation.
Ideally, you’ll bring at least three years’ operational experience in a line maintenance environment, along with the practical skills and technical judgement to complete and certify aircraft maintenance safely.
You can communicate technical and operational issues clearly to management, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and maintain a strong customer focus with internal and external partners.
You’ll be flexible when priorities change, confident using IT and maintenance reporting systems, and able to demonstrate a working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
