Job summary

STS Aviation Services in Manchester is seeking an experienced B1 Aircraft Mechanic for a contract starting September 2026 as part of our Winter Programme.

You will work at the Manchester hangar performing maintenance, repair and overhaul on large commercial aircraft, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timely compliance with STS and customer procedures. UK work authorisation and a valid DBS (or ability to obtain one) are required, with at least three years' live aircraft experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience on large commercial aircraft.
• Current UK work authorisation is required.
• DBS clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Hands-on experience with live aircraft mechanical tasks.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair and overhaul of customer's aircraft.
• Record maintenance activity and ensure accurate man-hour bookings.
• Perform work safely, to STS and customer standards.
• Maintain high safety and cleanliness, follow procedures.

B1 Mechanic ( Contract ) - September 2026 Start - Winter Programme

STS Aviation Services are rapidly growing and we are looking for experienced Contractor B1 Aircraft Mechanics to be part of our journey as the leading UK MRO. If you want to be part of the next chapter of our journey playing a key role at our Manchester Hangar then we'd love to hear from you.

Applicants MUST either be Citizens of the United Kingdom, or must currently have a valid work Authorization for working in the UK, with at least 2 years remaining until it's Expiration Date

Key Duties & responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair and overhaul of customer's aircraft to include all forms of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Follow both STS and Customer specific interface processes, recording of all maintenance activity performed and ensuring all man-hour bookings are accurate and timely.
• Executing the highest levels of maintenance standards and ensuring the aircraft maintenance activity is performed in a timely and efficient manner to customer's full satisfaction.
• Maintain the highest standard of safety and cleanliness, complying with all company procedures and policies.
• Fully comply with the minimum requirements for Health & Safety in the work place and COSHH regulations

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years aircraft experience performing Repairs, overhaul and maintenance on large commercial aircraft
• Applicants must have the current authorisation to work in the UK, for any employer
• All applicants must have a valid DBS or the ability to obtain one
