Job description

Licensed Aircraft Engineer - H145

Location: Scotland
Salary: £75,000+ depending on experience
Shift: 14 days on / 14 days off
Aircraft: H145
Duty Period: 08:00-18:00

License: EASA or UKCAA

The Role

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a rotary-wing operation based in Scotland, working on the H145.
Working a highly attractive 14 on / 14 off rotation, you will be responsible for carrying out and certifying aircraft maintenance within the scope of your company authorisations, supporting both the engineering and day-to-day operational requirements of the aircraft.
Duty periods run between 08:00 and 18:00, however the role is driven by the requirements of the contract, meaning there will be periods of downtime and rest throughout the working day rather than continuous work across the full duty period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out and certify aircraft maintenance within the scope of company authorisations.
  • Undertake line and base maintenance activities as required.
  • Complete all aircraft maintenance tasks safely, efficiently and in accordance with the required standards.
  • Analyse and interpret aircraft technical information.
  • Ensure aircraft, component and maintenance documentation is completed to the highest standard.
  • Provide regular engineering reports to the Head of Maintenance / Head of Department.
  • Effectively manage maintenance activities within your control.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable aviation authority and company requirements, including CAA and EASA requirements where relevant.
  • Liaise with operational crews to ensure aircraft defects are accurately defined and recorded.
  • Supervise engineering and support personnel where required.
  • Support the wider operation through aircraft towing and movement, ground handling, fuelling and marshalling activities.
  • Carry out aircraft and company vehicle cleaning as required.
  • Support the loading and unloading of aircraft luggage and ballast where required.
  • Maintain aircraft safety and security on the ramp in accordance with CAP642.
  • Carry out daily inspections and maintenance of allocated ground support equipment.
  • Support fuel operations, including bulk fuel delivery acceptance, daily water checks and general fuel equipment maintenance.
  • Manage on-site consumables and parts in accordance with company procedures.
  • Undertake technical crew member duties linked to HESLO operations.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the smooth running of operations.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a capable, hands-on Licensed Aircraft Engineer who can operate effectively in a varied rotary environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable combining aircraft maintenance and certification responsibilities with the practical ground-support requirements of the operation.
You'll need to be safety-focused, organised, technically competent and comfortable working both independently and alongside operational and engineering teams.

Salary & Benefits

£75,000+ per annum, dependent on experience and licence, alongside:

  • Additional annual leave linked to length of service, with an extra day after 3, 6 and 8 years.
  • Additional day of leave for your birthday.
  • Employee-contributed AXA Healthcare scheme.
  • Access to the Octopus EV Scheme.
  • Contractual sick pay increasing with service, up to 4 weeks' full pay.
  • Employer pension contribution of 5%, with a 3% employee contribution.
  • Optical care including one free eye test each year.
  • Death in Service cover at three times annual salary.
Working Pattern

14 days on / 14 days off
Duty periods are between 08:00 and 18:00. Work is carried out in line with the requirements of the contract, so there will be periods of downtime and rest throughout the day. Employees are not expected to work continuously for the full duration of the duty period.
