VACANCY NOTICE

B&Q Contract - WORKSOP

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Support Assistant to join our established team at B&Q Worksop. This challenging and exciting role will appeal to an individual with experience, drive, determination, and enthusiasm.

THE ROLE:

To assist in the general day-to-day running of the site engineering operation, carry out first-line fixes on non (A)HME equipment, to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. The role is part of the formation of the in-house engineering team at the B&Q site, Worksop.

• To service and maintain the Company’s property and equipment as instructed by the Engineering Manager, in accordance with the set schedules and manufacturers’ recommendations.
• To carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis on the Company’s property/equipment both indoors and outside the building.
• To comply with standard Health & Safety at Work responsibilities.
• To work flexible hours according to the needs of the business and site operations.
• To participate in standby duties and attend the site outside normal working hours in case of emergencies.
• To undertake duties assigned by the Engineering Manager related to the safety and operation of the site.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Administrative skills, proficiency with PC

Experience repairing mechanical systems, sub-assemblies, and components

Experience working in an automated warehouse environment

Educated to City and Guilds/BTECH standard or with a minimum of 5 years mechanical engineering experience

Welding skills (MIG/stick, etc.)

Working knowledge of conveyors and related equipment

Strong systematic problem-solving skills for mechanical components
