Walkers is offering an opportunity for a technically strong Banking & Finance lawyer to join its market-leading team in Guernsey. The role involves working with global blue-chip clients and helping to grow the Channel Islands B&F practice.

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 2 years PQE, combining excellent academics with commercial drive to provide high-quality advice and maintain exceptional client service while upholding the firm’s values.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 years PQE.
• Excellent academics.
• Ambitious and commercially driven.
• Solid legal skills with competent understanding of relevant market and client industries and technical knowledge of the relevant law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Associate in the Firm's B&F Practice in Guernsey.
• Provide technically sound advice externally to clients and internally to colleagues, senior counsel and partners on client matters.
• Manage files in accordance with the Firm's requirements, expectations and practices.
• Participate in developing the practice’s know-how, sharing knowledge and actively participating in conferences, seminars, client presentations and internal training.
• Maintain a sustained record of revenue generation and profitability, following billing rates, managing costs, and ensuring personal utilisation meets expectations.
• Adhere to the Firm's values and professional ethics.

Overview of role

Walkers is offering an opportunity to an ambitious and technically strong lawyer to join its market leading and dynamic Banking and Finance (" B&F ") team, as it continues on its proven and ongoing trajectory of growth.

The successful candidate will be based in the Firm's Guernsey office, joining a team of leading practitioners, working on behalf of global blue chip clients and intermediaries. In helping to build out and service the Guernsey B&F business, they will be a part of the ongoing expansion across all of the Firm's practice groups in the Channel Islands.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

- Associate in the Firm's B&F Practice in Guernsey.

- Provide technically sound advice and a highly responsive service externally to clients and internally by way of support, as needed, to colleagues, senior counsel and partners on all client matters.

- Manage files in accordance with the Firm's requirements, expectations and practices from time to time.
