Job summary

TLP People is seeking an Azure Software Engineer for a 7-month contract based in Epsom. The role focuses on developing and modernising applications within a major AS400 programme, leveraging Azure services and a modern stack.

You will contribute to the delivery, development and maintenance of applications across retail and fleet processes, including pricing, ordering and invoicing, while collaborating with Product Owners and technical teams to ensure high quality solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure cloud services and modern tech stacks.
  • Strong C# and JavaScript development skills.
  • Full-stack development, with database and data integration knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Understand requirements with Product Owners and Business Analysts to design, estimate, develop, test and release features.
  • Collaborate across teams on feature delivery, design reviews and testing.
  • Develop and support Azure applications and integration components using Azure Functions, APIM and CDN.
  • Work with SharePoint, Dynamics DataVerse and PowerApps within the MS 365 stack.
  • Develop and maintain code and release automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub tooling.

TLP have been working with Toyota (GB) PLC for over 25 years and are a trusted partner. This role will be employed by TLP (secondment to Toyota (GB) PLC).

We are looking for an experienced Azure Software Engineer to join the New Vehicle Sales team, supporting the delivery, development and maintenance of applications as part of a major AS400 modernisation programme.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer with strong Azure experience to work across a modern technology stack, developing and integrating systems covering retail and fleet vehicle ordering, vehicle registration, vehicle pricing, order stock allocation, finance and invoicing, as well as other applications required across the modernisation programme.

The role will involve working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Business Stakeholders and other technical teams to design, develop, test and release high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Business Stakeholders to understand functional requirements and collaborate with other teams to design, estimate, develop, test and release new features.
  • Work collaboratively with team members across feature delivery, including design, code reviews and testing.
  • Attend key team meetings, update PBI tickets and participate in delivery planning and reporting activities.
  • Develop and support Azure applications and integration components using technologies within the agreed solution architecture, including Azure Functions, APIM and CDN.
  • Work with the Microsoft 365 technology stack, including SharePoint, MS Dynamics DataVerse and PowerApps.
  • Develop applications using languages including C# and JavaScript.
  • Develop and support database solutions using technologies including SQL MI and Azure SQL.
  • Develop data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Data Flow, Databricks / Spark and Python, together with Azure Storage technologies such as Data Lake and Blob Storage.
  • Develop monitoring and alerting frameworks and tools to ensure the smooth and proactive operation of production solutions.
  • Conduct unit and integration test automation using appropriate tools and frameworks to ensure sufficient test coverage.
  • Undertake system testing of technical solution components to ensure functionality and quality.
  • Manage code, builds and release automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub tooling.
  • Build and manage Azure resources using ARM templates, ensuring adherence to security standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation for implemented solutions.
  • Develop proof of concepts to validate new architectures and solutions.
  • Collaborate with other technical implementation teams to align with Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) technical design, development and data standards.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Azure solutions with existing systems.
  • Ensure best practices are followed across Azure security, performance and cost optimisation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues relating to Azure infrastructure and applications.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong, proven experience with Azure, cloud-native approaches, and modern technology stacks.
  • Expertise in .NET technologies, including C#.
  • Full-stack development experience (from UI through to database).
  • Strong application of modern engineering principles and technologies, including:
  • Generative AI, including Specification Driven Development (SDD) and agentic approaches in the development lifecycle
  • API's and REST services
  • Continuous engineering practices, including unit testing, continuous integration, automated testing, and DevOps
  • Agile mindset and practice, with demonstrated experience working in fully Agile Scrum environments.
  • In addition to the required technical expertise, the ideal candidate must take a highly collaborative approach to their work, be a strong team player, and communicate very clearly and accurately in all situations.
