Job summary

Experis UK is seeking an experienced Lead Azure Platform Engineer to provide technical leadership for a high-performing Agile delivery team designing, building, automating and supporting secure Azure cloud infrastructure. The role combines hands-on platform engineering with setting direction, planning work, and governance, including IaC, deployment pipelines and secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong Azure platform experience including Databricks, Azure Functions, IAM/RBAC, Storage Accounts, Networking, VMs, Key Vault, Monitoring.
• IaC with Terraform is required.
• Azure DevOps Pipelines and CI/CD implementation knowledge.
• Azure DevOps Repos/Git and branching strategies.
• Docker and Docker Compose experience.
• Security vulnerability scanning using Trivy or similar.
• Bash and/or Python scripting for automation.
• Azure networking: VNets, NSGs, Private Endpoints and DNS.
• Experience in highly regulated/secure environments, including environments without Internet access.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience and fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership and direction to the delivery team.
• Plan platform engineering activity across sprints and milestones.
• Direct sprint planning, refinement, delivery, review and retrospectives.
• Review and approve work against acceptance criteria and security standards.
• Maintain RAID log with owners, impacts and mitigations.
• Support the project plan with estimates and progress forecasts.
• Record architecture and delivery decisions in logs and documents.
• Provide governance reporting on delivery status and risks.
