Job summary

Mondrian Alpha, a leading hedge fund in London, seeks a Director of Platform Engineering to design, build and operate a scalable Azure platform. You will land and run Azure infrastructure at scale, defining standards and reusable patterns for engineering and data science teams.

You will work closely with the CTO and infrastructure teams to institute identity, security, and governance across the platform, using Terraform/Bicep and scripting to automate deployments and guardrails.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and running Azure landing zones end-to-end.
• Deep expertise in IAM and identity management.
• Proven ability to implement hybrid cloud networking at scale.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash for platform ops and CI/CD.
• Experience establishing cloud governance and compliance automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the Azure platform from the ground up.
• Define practical platform standards and reusable patterns across the firm.
• Collaborate with CTO and infrastructure teams to govern cloud usage.
• Lead security-minded governance and compliance automation.
