Job summary

Burns Sheehan Limited is recruiting a Cloud Platform Engineer to build a secure, automated cloud environment in the UK. You’ll lead Azure infrastructure improvements with Terraform, own policy guardrails and drive governance as the platform matures.

The role focuses on hands-on implementation, not just maintenance, and involves collaboration with security, data, and delivery teams. The ideal candidate has strong Terraform and Azure DevOps experience, plus knowledge of Entra ID and Azure Policy.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building Azure infrastructure.
• Strong Terraform and Azure DevOps pipeline experience.
• Knowledge of Entra ID, access controls, Conditional Access and Azure Policy.
• Infrastructure background alongside platform or DevOps experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve Azure infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for platform changes.
• Own Azure Policy guardrails and help organise resources into management groups.
• Automate access, permissions and administrative processes across Azure and Entra ID.
• Embed security checks and controls into deployment workflows.
• Work with infrastructure, security, data and delivery teams, as well as the MSP.
• Support platform issues when needed, while focusing primarily on building and improving the environment.
• Hands- on experience building Azure infrastructure - not just supporting an existing setup.
