Job summary

Cognitive Group | Part of the Focus Cloud Group is seeking an experienced Azure Platform Architect to lead enterprise Azure design and delivery for public-sector and enterprise customers. This hands-on architect role combines deep Azure expertise with consulting and leadership to shape cloud strategy, modernise infrastructure and drive large-scale transformations.

Qualifications

8+ years in IT infrastructure
5+ years focused on Azure platform engineering/architecture
Current UK Government Security Clearance
Proven experience leading engineering teams
Experience delivering large-scale cloud migrations and data-centre exits
Knowledge of CAF and Azure Well-Architected Frameworks
Experience with security controls and governance
Excellent English communication and client-facing skills
Azure certifications, notably AZ-305

Responsibilities

Architect and design enterprise-scale Azure platforms.
Define and evolve Azure Landing Zone strategies and shared-service architectures.
Establish Infrastructure as Code standards and automation practices.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
Lead cloud strategy sessions, workshops and migration-readiness assessments.
Design and oversee major infrastructure transformation initiatives.
Conduct Azure Well-Architected reviews and ensure governance.
Align solutions with UK Government requirements and security classifications.
Communicate complex concepts to senior technical stakeholders.
Support bids, proposals and pre-sales to grow cloud architecture capability.
