Job summary

Consult is seeking a Data Architect (Azure) to lead a greenfield Azure data platform build, with Databricks Lakehouse design and governance using Unity Catalog and Purview. The role is outside IR35, primarily remote in the UK with occasional London attendance, and a 6-month initial engagement likely to extend.

You'll work with senior stakeholders, translate business needs into scalable data models, and stay hands-on when needed to unblock delivery within a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing a greenfield Azure data platform.
• Ability to talk senior stakeholders and technical teams.
• Hands-on implementation background in data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own the target data architecture from conceptual to physical design.
• Design the Databricks Lakehouse, including medallion layers, workspace, and cost patterns.
• Define governance, lineage, and cataloguing using Unity Catalog and Purview.
