Job summary

Layke AI is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support the next stage of a major data platform build. This hands-on role focuses on building a modern cloud data environment using Azure, Databricks, and Lakehouse architecture.

The position requires experience in designing and developing data pipelines and robust data models. Ideal candidates should have strong SQL skills, Python experience, and knowledge of data quality principles. This role offers remote flexibility with occasional Midlands presence.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer / Senior Data Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure-based data platforms.
• Experience in financial services, wealth management, insurance, banking or another regulated environment would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Building and optimising data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Python, SQL and Databricks.
• Developing robust data models and data flows for reporting and analytics.
• Helping improve CI/CD and deployment practices for data engineering workflows.
