Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will optimise data storage, processing, and enable data-driven decision-making for diverse client projects.

The role requires expertise in Azure data services, ETL/ELT patterns, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver robust solutions in a fast-paced agile environment. Some on-site work at client sites is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, data engineering, or related field.
Experience in Data Engineering, Database Development, or Data Integration.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services.
Microsoft certifications such as DP-203, AZ-900, and Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Azure.
Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics.
Manage and enhance data lakes, data warehouses, and data storage solutions.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, data models, and database objects for performance and scalability.
Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance with organizational standards.
Implement CI/CD practices and support deployment automation using Azure DevOps.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data platform and pipeline issues.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to deliver data-driven solutions.
Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of Azure data technologies.
