Job summary

Barratt Developments plc is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to build and maintain our Azure Data Lake and data pipelines within the Group Data Office. You will collaborate with the Visualization team to support Power BI data model development and enterprise-scale analytics.

The role emphasizes design and implementation of ADL/Synapse solutions, API integrations, and adherence to SOLID and TOGAF standards. A strong cloud and data engineering background is required.

Qualifications

• Proven design and build experience with ADL and Azure Synapse.
• Strong grasp of SOLID and enterprise architecture principles (TOGAF).
• Experience integrating APIs and data pipelines across systems.
• Hands-on with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (IAC) using Bicep or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Azure Data Lake Storage solutions for analytics.
• Integrate Azure Synapse into the data ecosystem and support Power BI data models.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT data pipelines from enterprise systems into the ADL.
• Apply SOLID principles to ensure scalable, maintainable code.
• Collaborate to align with TOGAF and enterprise architecture standards.
• Work with vendors to design API integrations and secure data transit using XML/JSON over HTTPS.
• Contribute to SDLC activities including testing, deployment and maintenance.
