Job summary

Barratt Developments plc is seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to join our newly formed Group Data Office. You will build and maintain the Azure Data Lake, develop robust data pipelines from enterprise systems, and support the Power BI data model development with the Visualization team.

The role emphasizes SOLID development, cloud data warehousing on Azure Synapse, TOGAF-aligned architecture, API integrations with 3rd parties, and secure data transport via XML and JSON over HTTPS,

Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing and building ADL solutions and Azure Synapse environments.
• Familiarity with SOLID development principles in data projects.
• Equivalent knowledge of TOGAF enterprise architecture.
• Azure DevOps experience for CI/CD deployments.
• Experience with BICEP or other IaC languages.
• Proficiency with APIs and data pipelines.
• Experience with data transport protocols like XML/JSON over HTTPS.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Azure Data Lake Storage solutions for analytics.
• Collaborate to integrate Azure Synapse into the data ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines from enterprise systems into the ADL.
• Apply SOLID principles to ensure code quality and scalability.
• Work within TOGAF to align data engineering with enterprise architecture standards.
• Collaborate with developers and vendors to design API integrations.
• Implement data transport using XML and JSON over HTTPS.
• Participate in SDLC, testing, deployment and maintenance.
