Job summary

Nigel Frank is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer in London (Remote) to lead Azure, Microsoft 365 and cyber security operations for a public sector transformation programme. You will manage a small team, shape cloud strategy and ensure secure, resilient infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include designing Azure environments, overseeing identity platforms and implementing ITSM processes.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• Experience managing Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune and identity management technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, compute, storage, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.
• Experience managing infrastructure teams or providing technical leadership.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and Azure Cloud Shell.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, design and lifecycle management of Azure cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365 and identity platforms.
• Own Azure infrastructure including networking, compute, storage, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery.
• Lead cyber security operations, vulnerability management, incident response and compliance activities alongside external security partners.
• Manage and develop a small infrastructure team, providing technical leadership and mentoring.
• Drive cloud transformation projects, supporting the migration of legacy infrastructure into modern Azure environments.
• Manage Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, RBAC and identity management services.
• Develop and improve IT Service Management processes, including Change Management, Asset Management and CMDB administration.
