Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to evaluate security technologies and cloud services, implement cloud-first solutions, and work with security architects to shape the cloud security strategy.

You will design secure cloud environments with an Azure focus, ensure compliance with GDPR/ISO 27001, and contribute to DevSecOps practices, including AKS, Defender, and automation using PowerShell and Python.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing, and securing cloud environments with emphasis on Azure.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
• Hands-on experience with AKS and microservices.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps methodologies and tools.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Security Architects and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new security technologies and cloud services, performing engineering work and security analysis to determine if solutions should be pursued, and implement them as required.
• Develop cloud security solutions by applying Security as Code using cloud automation tooling and best practices.
• Collaborate with Security Architects to define and own the cloud security strategy and ensure a secure environment.
• Establish cloud security best practices and guardrails for developers through cloud-native services.
• Validate cloud solutions meet published enterprise security standards and governance guidelines.
