Job summary
Thales is seeking a Principal Applications Engineer in the UK to lead the transformation of engineering environments to a cloud-based Azure platform. You will build and support modern tooling, migrate from legacy systems, and work in an agile team guiding best practices while coaching junior engineers.

Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in modern DevOps and platform engineering.
- Experience building cloud-based tooling environments on Azure.
- Experience in agile development teams and collaborating with product owners.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and support tools on Thales’ Azure infrastructure (CI/CD, artifact management, code quality).
- Build or modify deployment solutions using IaC and automation.
- Improve processes through automation for reliability and consistency.
- Maintain environments during the transition to new platforms.
- Support delivery teams with automated provisioning of compute, network, and storage.
- Implement operational best practices: monitoring, backups, archives, and logs.
