Job summary

Ofgem is seeking a Principal Technical Architect (Azure) to shape how Azure is designed and used across the organisation. You will define standards, governance, and support delivery teams to build secure, scalable cloud solutions, working across programmes to ensure architectural consistency and manage risk.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in design and delivery of complex Azure solutions.
• Proven ability to lead architecture governance and decision-making.
• Experience shaping architecture standards and guiding multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of cloud security, identity and compliance.
• Ability to mentor architects and engineers across DDSS.

Responsibilities

• Define and shape Azure architecture standards, aligned to organisational and government frameworks.
• Establish and embed architectural patterns, principles and governance.
• Provide oversight and assurance for complex cloud solutions.
• Support architectural decision-making and manage technical risk.
• Promote reusable frameworks and best practice across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology and business needs.
• Evaluate emerging Azure capabilities and support their adoption.
• Mentor architects and engineers, building capability across DDSS.
