Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking an Application Architect to drive design across the Risk Content Curation and Distribution Platform. You will shape architectures, guide engineering teams, and ensure security, scalability, and reliability of cloud-native applications in AWS.

You will collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable designs, promoting reuse and best practices across components.

Qualifications

• Experience as an application architect or senior engineering role within distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of application design, API design, and data modelling.
• Solid experience with Java and/or Python in production environments.
• Practical experience designing and operating AWS-based applications in a cloud-native environment.
• Working knowledge of containerised architectures, messaging patterns, and distributed data stores.

Responsibilities

• Shape application architectures aligned with enterprise standards and translate requirements into pragmatic designs.
• Review significant technical design decisions and ensure quality attributes like performance and scalability.
• Act as a technical reference for development teams and influence decisions through expertise and communication.
• Design cloud-native, AWS-hosted applications with emphasis on observability, operability, and cost.
