Job summary

Opus Fund Services seeks an AVP to establish and operate its Middle Office capability, initially overseeing OTC derivative confirmations, reconciliations and lifecycle monitoring. You will help build processes, controls and operating models and play a key role as the function expands across trade lifecycle management and portfolio accounting activities.

Qualifications

• Honours degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, business.
• 5+ years’ progressive experience in a financial services operation team.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise and execute concurrent client demands and internal stakeholder requests.
• Experience in or with the asset management industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate OTC derivative confirmations from counterparties.
• Perform independent reconciliations using platforms like MarkitWire, TradeServ, and other utilities.
• Investigate, document, and resolve reconciliation breaks and operational exceptions.
• Liaise with counterparties, clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders for timely issue resolution.
• Monitor trade lifecycle events and maintain control evidence, audit trails and exception reporting.
• Help design processes, implement controls, document procedures, and develop operating models for Middle Office.
• Contribute to building a scalable Middle Office service offering for more clients and services.
• Assist with client onboarding, service transitions, and new Middle Office services.
