Job summary

Roundhouse Recruitment Ltd is helping a Global aerospace company fill an Avionics Design Engineer position based in Bishop's Stortford / Stansted. The role covers avionics and electrical design, cabin modification projects, wiring diagrams, EWIS design and associated certification work, with full training and clear progression into leadership as the UK design function grows.

You will join a small UK design team, involved from initial design and aircraft surveys through to testing, installation

Qualifications

• Aircraft avionics or electrical design background.
• Experience working on aircraft modifications.
• Part-21J experience or experience within a closely related approved aircraft design environment.
• Able to produce or interpret aircraft electrical and avionics technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Avionics and electrical aircraft modification design.
• Support cabin modification projects involving aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
• Produce wiring diagrams, harness documentation and EWIS design.
• Carry out electrical load analysis and associated technical calculations.
• Prepare Service Bulletins, accomplishment instructions and design documentation.
• Produce compliance and certification documentation within a Part-21 environment.
• Support aircraft surveys, testing, installation and modification activities.
• Work across a range of commercial aircraft modification projects, with a significant focus on cabin interiors and associated systems.
• Work closely with engineers across a wider international aerospace business.
• Develop towards increased technical and project responsibility.

Are you an Avionics Design Engineer / Aircraft Electrical Design Engineer or similar with experience working on aircraft modification projects, looking to join a Global company that are expanding their small UK division, offering full training and progression into Leadership?

This is an opportunity to join a specialist aerospace engineering business delivering avionics, electrical and cabin modification projects across commercial aircraft. You will work within a small UK design team, giving you close involvement across projects from initial design and aircraft survey through to certification, testing and installation support.

The role offers strong technical exposure across aircraft systems and cabin modification work and a clear route towards greater responsibility as the UK design function develops, with potential progression into senior engineering, CVE, technical leadership or management positions.

The Role:

• Avionics and electrical aircraft modification design
• Support cabin modification projects involving aircraft electrical and avionics systems
• Produce wiring diagrams, harness documentation and EWIS design

The Person:

• Aircraft avionics or electrical design background
• Experience working on aircraft modifications
• Part-21J experience or experience within a closely related approved aircraft design environment

• Experience with cabin modification, cabin systems or aircraft interiors projects would be beneficial but is not essential
