Job summary

Morson Edge seeks an Avionic Instructor on a permanent basis to join our team at RNAS Yeovilton, supporting Wildcat training delivery and courseware development. You will work closely with the Lead Groundschool Instructor and Chief Instructor to deliver a high-quality training service across instruction, reporting, assessment support, and SME tasks.

Qualifications

• Former military technical instructor with understanding of training requirements.
• DIT qualification.
• Driving licence with ability to obtain an Airfield Driving Permit.
• Experience in Military Rotary Wing training service and related processes.
• Understanding of delivering training against course plans and managing simulators.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work unsupervised to meet deadlines.
• Desire to develop a high-quality Training Service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with Front Line Command reps.
• Ability to implement best practices from AW training facilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• We provide instruction to students on Wildcat Aircraft Technical and Groundcrew courses and the LMS.
• We assist the Lead Groundschool Instructor in achieving KPIs.
• Maintain up-to-date competence on Wildcat technical subjects.
• We conduct instructional tasks within the contract period and roster.
• Utilise Training Capital Equipment to deliver and debrief sessions.
• We perform duties as Maintenance Training Equipment Instructor Operator Station Operator.
• We liaise with Lead Groundschool Instructor for schedules.
• We receive training and complete Staff Continuation Training.
• We deliver presentations on Wildcat-related subjects when tasked.
• We submit to re-certification checks for Instructor competence.
• We ensure pre- and post-course documentation within defined timescales.
• We produce periodic student reports.
• We operate the Training Management Information System and assist Engineering.
• We report deficiencies in courseware for corrective action.
• We deputise for the Lead Groundschool Instructor when required.
• We train new instructors as directed by chiefs.
• We undertake secondary duties as required by line management.
• We contribute to Training Service reporting and support.
• We support invigilation of exams, sometimes outside of the role.
• We act as Subject Matter Expert in meetings and testing in UK/overseas.

Requirements

• We are seeking a former military technical instructor with a sound understanding of customer training requirements, processes and procedures.
• We require DIT qualification.
• A driving licence is required, with the capability to attain an Airfield Driving Permit.
• Experience of working within a Military Rotary Wing training service and knowledge of the internal and external processes and procedures required to enable such a service.
• Understanding of the complexities of delivering a Training Service against course training plans and of managing multiple synthetic training devices.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work unsupervised to demanding deadlines.
• Determination to develop a groundbreaking Training Service of the highest quality and standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience of dealing with a range of customers including Front Line Command representatives.
• Ability to seek out, implement and maintain best practice from relevant AW training facilities.
• PC literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• We provide instruction to students on Wildcat Aircraft Technical and Groundcrew courses and the Learning Content Management System, using training equipment to deliver or enhance instruction as appropriate.
• We fully assist the Lead Groundschool Instructor in achieving all Key Performance Indicators.
• We maintain up-to-date competence on the technical subjects of the Wildcat helicopter.
• We conduct instructional tasks within the contract training delivery period and rostered shift pattern.
• We fully utilise all Training Capital Equipment to deliver and debrief training sessions.
• We perform duties as a Maintenance Training Equipment Instructor Operator Station Operator, including developing and programming scenarios and Training Initial Conditions.
• We liaise with the Lead Groundschool Instructor and/or Chief Instructor for student assessment schedules.
• We receive training, conduct Staff Continuation Training and Continued Personal Development as required.
• We deliver presentations on Wildcat-related subjects when tasked.
• We submit to annual re-certification checks for Competence to Instruct and other qualifications required for the role of Aircraft Technical Instructor.
• We ensure pre- and post-course documentation and reports are completed within defined timescales.
• We produce periodic reports for students when tasked.
• We operate the Training Management Information System, recording training events, initiating and recording faults, and assisting Engineering with fault diagnosis as required.
• We note deficiencies and errors in courseware and record and report them in the approved format for corrective action.
• We deputise for the Lead Groundschool Instructor during absentia when tasked.
• We participate in the training of new instructors at the direction of the Chief Instructor or Lead Groundschool Instructor.
• We undertake secondary duties as required by line management, including visits.
• We fully contribute to Training Service reporting and support requirements.
• We support the invigilation of formative and summative exams, normally outside of the particular role for which recruited.
• We act as a Subject Matter Expert at meetings and participate in testing when required in support of equipment enhancements, in the UK or overseas.
• We act as a Subject Matter Expert during the courseware development process, providing technical input and conducting quality assurance checks on delivered courseware.
