Job summary

Malloy Aeronautics Ltd. is seeking a Regulatory and Compliance Manager to own regulatory governance for UK flying operations, including civil and military contexts. You will liaise with authorities (CAA, MAA, AAIB, NATS) and manage OFCOM permissions, ensuring compliant flight operations across sites in the UK and abroad.

Role requires 5 years residence in the UK and security clearance eligibility. You will lead risk assessments, incident response, and training support, driving aviation safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience in preparing and submitting SORA assessments and applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of the UK UAS regulatory environment.
• Strong communication skills in safety-critical and operational contexts.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, flight ops, safety, QA).
• Ability to work well in a team and build strong relationships quickly.
• Experience in risk and safety management with proactive mindset.
• Proficiency in regulatory liaison, audit prep and permissions management.
• Experience maintaining audit-ready regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Generate and own the company’s flight operations governance documentation (e.g. OSC, OA, CFAOS, SORA).
• Submit operational & technical variations and site-specific flying permissions for SORAs.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external UAV regulations.
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g., UK CAA) for approvals and exemptions.
• Own OFCOM permissions, including site changes and renewals.
• Coordinate with engineering and test teams to plan flight trials and approvals.
• Conduct aviation risk assessments for trials in the UK and abroad.
• Participate in incident response and post-incident reporting.
• Support pilot training, authorisation management and crew certification.
• Drive safety culture and compliance process improvements.
• Ensure SHE policy adherence across aviation activities.
• Provide guidance on NOTAMs, airspace restrictions and safe UAV operations.
