Job summary

Bombardier Services (UK) in Biggin Hill is seeking a Buyer with a solid background in aviation procurement to manage parts, materials and tooling for aircraft maintenance. You will collaborate with planning, maintenance staff and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery, maintain stock levels, and uphold compliance with MOE and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include generating purchase orders in SAP, tracking orders, coordinating quotes and lead times, and ensuring parts are sourced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or work level) in Purchasing or Inventory Management.
• Experience in aviation or material/parts environment.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft parts and terminology.
• Knowledge of human factors, performance and limitations.
• Knowledge of logistics processes.
• Knowledge of EWIS and CDCCL when relevant.
• Computer skills to use word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
• Planning and organizational skills for multiple projects with changing priorities.
• Interpersonal skills to work with Planning and Maintenance staff.
• Basic knowledge of EASA Part-145, PGS-15, ADR, IATA categories 7/8.
• Airfreight Security Employee training (if access to store).
• Road Transport/Awareness ADR training.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to MOE and work instructions.
• Prepare purchase orders and arrange slots with external vendors.
• Track materials, tools and ground support equipment for recertification.
• Ensure timely calibration of tools.
• Identify alternate and superseded part numbers.
• Schedule critical paths and assign priorities for on-time parts delivery.
• Coordinate repair and overhaul quotes and lead times.
• Place purchase orders and ensure conformance to purchase requirements.
• Consider warranties and special programs when obtaining parts.
• Order from approved suppliers and arrange shipments.
• Generate POs in SAP and monitor timely delivery.
• Report status to Project Responsible and Project Manager.
• Monitor deliveries and inform supervisor of delays.
• Handle core and warranty issues and programs.
• Re-order consumables using min/max to minimize stock outages.
• Plan and forecast requirements with suppliers and stores.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
