Job summary

Bombardier is hiring a Buyer at the Biggin Hill Service Centre to support planning, purchasing and parts logistics for aircraft maintenance and overhauls. The role emphasizes collaboration with the UK Bombardier Services team, parts procurement, and timely coordination with suppliers.

The successful candidate will leverage aviation knowledge, SAP/PO experience and strong organizational skills to ensure parts, tools and services arrive on time, adhering to MOE and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or work level) in Purchasing or Inventory Management.
• Experience in aviation or material/parts environment.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft parts and terminology.
• Familiar with logistics processes and SAP/PO workflows.
• Knowledge of EWIS and CDCCL where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Bombardier's MOE and work instructions.
• Attend kick-offs, prepare POs and arrange vendor slots for overhauls.
• Track materials, tools and GSE for recertification and schedules.
• Ensure timely calibration of tools.
• Identify alternate and superseded part numbers.
• Identify and schedule critical paths; assign priorities for on-time delivery.
• Coordinate repair/overhaul quotes and lead times.
• Place POs and ensure conformance to purchase requirements.
• Consider warranty programs when obtaining parts/services.
• Ensure parts are ordered from approved suppliers (ASL).
• Arrange and track shipments with forwarders.
• Generate POs in SAP and monitor delivery.
• Track incoming orders and report to Project Responsible/PM.
• Monitor delays and inform stakeholders of constraints.
• Handle core and warranty issues and programs.
• Maintain stock via min/max to prevent outages on high-turnover items.
• Plan and forecast parts/materials/tools with suppliers and stores.
