Job summary

SYOS Aerospace in Fareham seeks a Mechanical Technician - Aviation for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on assembling, installing, testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems on unmanned aircraft, payloads and ground equipment.

You will work from CAD drawings, maintain records and support integration and safety standards. The ideal candidate has a Level 3 technical qualification or equivalent, with hands-on experience in mechanical assemblies and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Level 3 technical qualification or equivalent practical experience in mechanical engineering or aerospace.
• Experience assembling, inspecting, testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, CAD documents and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, repair, adjust and align mechanical components.
• Build assemblies using CAD drawings and work instructions.
• Conduct inspections, testing and pre-delivery checks.
• Operate and maintain production equipment and test gear.
• Troubleshoot fuel systems, landing gear, launchers and rotor systems.
• Support payload integration and aircraft rigging.
• Maintain build, inspection and test records.
• Contribute to risk assessments and safety records.
• Collaborate with engineers, suppliers and customers to ensure safety.
