Job summary

British Airways invites applications for a 3-year Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship at London Heathrow. You will work with senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience on real aircraft while training toward the CAA Part-66 licence and Level 3 Technician apprenticeship.

Induction is at Heathrow with off-site study in year 1. Years 2–3 return to Heathrow for further placements, with 12-hour shift patterns possible in later years.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCSE grade 5 in Maths, Physics or Combined Science and English grade 9-4 (A*-C) required or predicted.
• Applicants must be eligible for apprenticeship funding and be available to start Autumn 2027.
• Interest in engineering and aviation with a strong safety mindset is essential.

Responsibilities

• Learn from engineers on real aircraft and develop practical maintenance skills.
• Complete 16 CAA A-Licence Modules and Level 3 Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship.
• Support aircraft maintenance activities and progress through placements across bases.
